Smitha Haridas
Smitha Haridas is the founder of Drida — a non-profit meditation community that offers free chakra meditation, breathwork, yoga, and guided wellness to women across India and beyond.
Before Drida, Smitha was a school teacher — patient, nurturing, deeply attentive to every student. Her next chapter was creativity: she founded S.Haridas Designs, a boutique costume design studio in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur, whose work dressed Malayalam television actresses for serials and award shows. She had a gift for seeing the best in every woman — and bringing it out.
Then, one day, she set it all aside. The studio, the costumes, the classroom. She turned inward, discovered the transformative power of chakra meditation and breathwork, and decided she wanted to share it freely with other women. On 21 September 2021, she started a small WhatsApp group called Positive Vibes. What happened next surprised everyone — including her.
"I was a teacher, then a designer. Both were about giving women their best selves. Meditation was simply the next — and deepest — way to do that."
Positive Vibes grew into Drida in 2024. Today it is a thriving community of over 4,000 women, with 15 free meditation batches completed, multiple paid courses, yoga, fitness, pilgrimage trips, and a growing range of wellness products — all rooted in the same spirit that started with one WhatsApp group.
The Designer Who Became a Teacher
Before she led 4,000 women into stillness, Smitha Haridas spent years giving other women their most confident moments — stitch by stitch, design by design.
Smitha's first calling was the classroom. She taught children at the primary, secondary and high school levels — patient, nurturing, deeply attentive to every student. That gift of teaching never left her.
Her next chapter was creativity. She founded S.Haridas Designs — a boutique costume design studio in Irinjalakuda, Thrissur — with the tagline "My Designs Your Prestige." Her work dressed Malayalam television actresses for serials and award shows, including the well-known actress Sarayu. She had an eye for colour, drape, and the quiet confidence a well-made garment gives a woman — she also created a personal fashion line of matching mother-daughter outfits.
Then, one day, she set it all aside. The studio, the costumes, the classroom — all of it. She turned inward, discovered the transformative power of chakra meditation and breathwork, and decided she wanted to share it freely with other women.

Then came 21 September 2021 — and everything changed.
Smitha started a small WhatsApp group called Positive Vibes. Women showed up every morning and evening for guided meditation. Word spread — batch after batch, city after city. What began as a handful of women became hundreds, then thousands.
In 2024, Positive Vibes became Drida — rooted in the Sanskrit word for inner strength and steadiness. Today, with over 4,000 members across 15 completed free batches, Drida is one of India's most vibrant women's wellness communities. Still free. Still led by Smitha Haridas. Still rooted in the same quiet intention that started it all.
